Michelle Cass
Michelle Cass was promoted to ABA’s Senior Director of Account Management in February of this year. Having been a valuable member of the ABA team for three years, Michelle brings 30 years of experience in the health insurance industry, making her an excellent addition to this leadership position. In her current role, Michelle oversees a Client Services Team of 24 dedicated individuals, including both Account Management and Implementation, all under the guidance of Jesse “Jay” Beck.
Michelle is passionate about fostering and enhancing collaboration between Sales, Implementation, and Account Management, ensuring a seamless client experience. Michelle is also focused on increasing ABA’s presence with clients and benefit advisors alike, whether through virtual chats or those all-important face-to-face meetings, to build strong, long-lasting relationships.
When asked what a “normal” workday looks like, Michelle confesses, “With several initiatives underway, much of my day is spent collaborating with other areas to ensure these advancements and efforts align with our clients. Right now, we’re partnering with IT to streamline our implementation and renewal processes using innovative tools like Smartsheet and Docusign, which will significantly boost our efficiency and communication.”
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys a wonderful life in Georgetown, Texas, with her husband, with whom she recently celebrated their 34th anniversary. They have two adult children (one in Louisville, Kentucky; one in Dallas, Texas), and two adorable rescue dogs, the much-loved Bill and Ted. In her free time, Michelle loves to read and explore the charming Hill Country, always on the lookout for their favorite local wineries and breweries. We’re thrilled to have Michelle leading the way and look forward to seeing the positive impact she’ll bring in her new role.

Jason Coyne
Jason Coyne is our Senior Vice President for Level Funded Plans at ABA. With over three decades of experience in the health insurance field, Jason brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to the table. He’s proudly one of the longest-serving members of our team, having joined us back in 2012 during an exciting time of transformation under the leadership of David Rendall.
Jason was a pioneer in launching one of the first small-group, Level-Funded plans in the U.S. in 1999. Since then,
Jason has witnessed the impressive growth in popularity of Level Funded plans – and how they’re evolving to incorporate new technology. “The industry has become incredibly automated,” Jason comments. “Five years ago, we needed applications from everyone in the proposed group. Now, census-based underwriting is the new normal.”
As Jason expertly manages various facets of ABA’s Level Funded programs, each day is an adventure. He focuses on nurturing relationships with new brokers while providing invaluable support to our existing partners, reviewing quotes, and helping seal the deal. He loves the personal touch, whether it’s through calls or in-person visits. Recently, he traveled to South Carolina to meet with a group of over 20 brokers. “At ABA, we focus on strengthening relationships,” Jason said. “I spend a fair amount of time with underwriters – the folks who deliver our rates. This helps us get the best rates for our benefit advisor partners, and the best benefits for their groups.”
Once a sale is secured, his dedicated Level Funded account executives, Brittany Flores and Cris Solis, take the reins on daily operations, handling billing and claims inquiries, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Residing in Georgetown, Texas, for the past 13 years, Jason finds joy in family life with his two kids: an 18-year-old son who is gearing up for Baylor next year and a spirited 13-year-old daughter who plays on a travel volleyball team. In his downtime, you’ll often find Jason hitting the golf course, a passion he’s cherished since he was just four years old. For him, a day on the course is the perfect way to rejuvenate and stay “on course”.
